Error message: Excel cannot find OLAP cube. Either the OLAP database has been changed or you don't have permissions to connect to the cube. Consult your database administrator.
OLAP / Macros / Enable Content Error
Description: In order for the EBM Office Bridge file to correctly prompt the user for credentials, Macros/Content must be enabled. This is typically a yellow warning message that appears above the spreadsheet cells. When downloading blank EBM Office Bridge or Cube files, users will be prompted to:
- Enable Editing
- Enable Content
Note: If content is NOT enabled the user is not prompted for Diligent credentials and no blank cube is inserted. If an existing file is opened and content is not enabled and the user chooses to refresh the cube, they are presented with the standard Excel login, which is now obsolete and outdated. Since most users won't know their Excel login (which prompts the user to enter their Pre-Windows 2000 user ID and their email address, rather than their Diligent username) and because the connection to the cube fails, the user will get the error message (same as at the top of this page) below:
Solution:
- Create a Trusted Location for all your EBM-based files to avoid any macro issues. If you don't do that, you'll have to ensure that the user has Enabled Editing when prompted and Enabled Content when prompted. Optional: Choose these settings by default. Learn more about Macros here.
- Additionally, confirm that the user does indeed have Navigation Permissions enabled for this Cube file. Refresh the cubes in Diligent if you adjust permissions.
